JOB DETAILS
• Sew garments, using needles and thread or sewing machines. • Assemble garment parts and join parts with basting stitches, using needles and thread or sewing machine. • Remove stiches from garments to be altered, using unpicker and snippers. • Examine tags on garments to determine alterations that are needed. • Fit, alter, repair and made-to-measure clothing, according to customers and clothing manufacturers’ specifications and fit, and applying principles of garment design, construction and styling. • Press garments, using steam irons or pressing machines. • Maintain garment drape and proportions as alterations are performed. • Stitches two or more fabrics of the same patter piece together, or with other material using basting stich. • Record time taken used to complete each garments in log book
